Pray for the Philippines

Pray for the Philippines

I would like to thank God for keeping me and my family safe from the floods and heavy rain. I'm still praying for the sake of the Philippines and its people. Good thing is the rain is not that much like the previous days and hope it will clear away.

Here are some photos of our river from Tarlac.

You can see here that the water level almost reaches the bridge.

A small part in the side of the river cracked.

I stayed home all day and just watched the news. Good thing is that power and internet is not affected here. I wish and pray for the best of our countrymen.

Happy 25Th of July

Friendly quote of the day: Love is deaf. You can't just tell someone what you feel, You have to show it.

First lyric video

My first made lyric video, 214 by Rivermaya. I just tested Powerdirector and I had fun with it. The quality is low because I have mistakenly saved it in a wrong output. I know it sucks but I'll keep going on to improve and learn more.

BC Bloggers' Meme - Family Bonding

I can say I belong to a great big happy family. I belong to Lacson and Bonifacio family from Tarlac City. We  have great bonds in our family and we are very close. We usually have an annual gathering during all saint's day. We eat, share stories, have fun at the same time pray and remember our love ones who past away.

The Lacson boys, my cousins from this family side are mostly boys. I miss our childhood days when we play and play all day. Sleepovers and food trips.

My aunts and cousins.

We also have gatherings during holidays. Partying and having fun, exchanging gifts and aguinaldo during Christmas.

This is New Year 2012, We had a gathering at my uncle's place.

My graduation with my parents

I'm so thankful for the support of my family and relatives. They are my building blocks in life. They are always there to give a hand in times of troubles. I always believe that blood is thicker than water.

Never get busy making a living

Just a reminder for the day. Don't forget to spend time with your family and friends. Have a great day!

OSANG from X-Factor Philippines

This is from weeks ago X-factor Philippines auditions. It's funny when the judges were expecting to hear a sweet song from him and instead he sang a screaming song. Excited to see more of him in the competition.

I got read this from a site and I just want to share it to all of you:

Author Michael Jeffreys personally interviewed 15 top motivational gurus in 1997 for his then upcoming book. After talking to gurus from Brian Tracy to Dr. Wayne Dyer, he distilled 8 Secrets to Success they all agreed upon. These secrets are still good today and are as follows:

1. Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life – In a society where people blame everything from their parents to the government for failure, those who don’t buy into this mentality or succumb to the “victim” thinking succeed. To blame something or somebody outside yourself is saying they have control of your life and not you. Someone else’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.

2. Live Your Life On Purpose - What separates motivational thinkers from the unsuccessful is that they believe they’re doing what they were put her to do. The difference between this and just living, is that the latter is just getting through the week with the least problems. But when you live your life on purpose, your main concern is doing the job right. For the entrepreneur this means finding a cause you believe in and building your business around it.

3. Be Willing to Pay the Price - Be willing to pay the price for your dreams. Wanting a big house, a luxury car, and a million dollars in the bank is all very nice, and everyone wants these things – but are you willing to pay the price to get them? This is one of the major differences between the successful and unsuccessful.

4. Stay Focused – Every day we’re bombarded with hundreds of tasks, phone calls, messages, and everyone competing for our time. Focusing requires giving upsomething in the present because you are investing your time in something that will pay off big-time down the road. Jack Canfield and Mark Hanson were turned by 30 publishers when they submitted the first “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book. Instead of giving up, they stayed focused on their goal and did four or five interviews per day for radio, TV, and newspapers, for five days a week for a whole year. Eventually, a small publisher decided to take a chance, and of course now it’s a best-seller that spawned an entire series that have sold more than 10 million copies.

5. Become An Expert in Your Field One striking factor all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They strive to be the best at what they do, and do almost anything to improve. If someone followed you around all day with a video camera at your business, would it be a tape you’d be proud of or embarrassed about? Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field. How? By finding out what the “best” in your field are doing, and do what they do.

6. Write Out a Plan for Achieving Your Goals - Write out an action plan/map for how you’re going to achieve your goals. Trying to reach your goals without a plan is like trying to drive from Los Angeles to Chicago without a map. A goal that isn’t written down is merely a wish or fantasy.

 Never Give Up -
Never, never, never give up. When you’re fully committed to achieving your goal, giving up is not an option. You must be willing do whatever it takes to make it happen. The power of perseverance is an awesome force. As someone once said, “inch by inch it’s a cinch”. Think of the lowly inchworm – if it pondered the length of the trip from start to finish before it started, it probably would never move. To a worm’s point-of-view, the garden path must look like a trip to Mars. Never give up! Keep on going like the Eveready battery bunny, and pretty soon you’re there.

8. Don’t Delay - Nobody knows how much time they have left to accomplish their dreams, and we must remember that we don’t have forever. The clock is ticking, and sooner or later your number comes up and you’re gone. Successful achievers know this too, but they don’t view it as a “negative”. Achievers use it to “spur them on”. They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as possible, for as long as they have.

I had a friend who used to say, “Today is a check – cash it! Yesterday is an I.O.U. – forget it! Tomorrow is a promissory note, don’t bank on it!” I think that’s a pretty good summation of life, so go out there and cash in on that “today” check.

Health is Wealth : 7 Tips to Eating Right

Some health tips I found on Facebook. They are very simple but can help a lot in our health.

1. Cook Your Own Food. Buying your own ingredients, preparing and cooking your own food at home give you control and to determine the quality of meals you eat every day. Make cooking fun and a family activity !

2. Make Eating Fruits and Vegetables a Daily Habit. According to research, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke. Put fruits where you can see it and within easy reach – eat some every day, in every meal.

3. Portion your Intake. You don’t have to deprive yourself of the things you like to eat, just eat them in the right quantity and aim for balanced meals every time. Small snacks in between meals will help you avoid over-eating during main meals.

4. Drink LOTS of Water. Water keeps the body temperature at its optimum, helps clean the body of toxins and replenishes our body systems. So keep on hydrating and drink, drink, drink H2O !

5. Start with Greens. Eating salads and vegetables at the start of each meal helps keep your intake of other foods to a minimum. Not only are they good for your digestive system because they are high in fiber, it keeps you feel full longer as well.

6. Choose High-fiber, Whole-grain Foods. Whole grain-breads, whole-grain pasta and brown rice are now widely available in the market. These healthier options provide you with good carbohydrates during the day while keeping your weight down !

7. Don’t Skip Breakfast. If you eat breakfast , there is a greater chance that you burn more calories for the rest of the day because you consumed them early. The old adage is true – breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Remember that health MUST and should be a priority in our lives. Start eating healthy for a truly abundant life !

"The Truth", of Eric Thomas' "Secrets to Success"

Very inspiring video from Eric Thomas "Secrets to Success"

When you want to be successful in life you got to be willing to sacrifice. When the time comes that you want to be successful as much as breathing-then you'll be successful. I always watch this video to motivate me and to remind me how bad I want to be successful. Success for me is not only about money but to have good relationship to family and other people. To offer goodness and to to contribute for a better community.

I just want to share a good inspirational video:
To sum it up:

We always have ideas but we don't take action. Time comes and we regret many things and say I wish I did it when I was younger or when I have the time. We are all creative since we are young, we just need to believe to ourselves in order to make it. It is never to late to make actions and achieve our dreams in life.

First earned money online

I have just started in internet marketing. I have started some methods but to keep the money rolling I have applied freelance jobs through Odesk and luckily I have been accepted and have ongoing jobs. Odesk is a simple site for freelancers working from home. You can so many available jobs which depends on what skills you have. I recommend it also for those starters in making money online like me. I will be saving money for my future online projects.

It's not a huge amount of money but I'm happy with it. I will post here my journal in money making online and maybe others might learn from it.

"Google Nexus 7" here in the Philippines

I have read from websites who have reliable sources that the Google Nexus 7 will arrive and will be available for retail here in the Philippines late August. It’s good news for me since I have been longing to purchase this tablet. Only the 16 gb version will be available here in Philippines since there are many who are complaining about the lack of storage and sd slot. The bad news for me is that it is priced way to higher than the announced price by Google. The U.S tag list for Google Nexus 7 is for 249$ and 15,000 php is just too much way higher than this. Well it’s just a personal computing of someone who purchased Google Nexus 7 from the U.S and have cost him 19,000 plus sales tax and shipping. I was hoping for cheaper. I guess I’ll have to wait for competitors like Apple and Acer to release their versions of small tables.

My Family

Last week is a little bit rough for me because my mother was hospitalized. I have to stay 3 days in a hospital to watch her closely. She is diabetic and also suffered from  a lung infection. She also dropped her weight because she lost her appetite. I am very thankful that she’s in better condition now. She was advised to stay away from work for a month.
